Hello. First thanks for the nice plugin. I’m using 1.3.1 and I’m having trouble connecting it to firebase with this: Server Key or Sender ID could not be verified.

I’ve tried with both long and short version of the server key. Also tested with and without the suggested “add Firebase to your webapp” snippet in my code and nothing. Is not clear that I should add that in the first place, just provide the Key and ID. Any hint is welcome, thanks

    Hi @iowilliam

Not sure if you have the right keys. Are you inside the “Project Settings -> Cloud Messaging”? There you should have only one server key (the long one, not the “old serverkey”) and one Sender-ID.

The URL to this specific settings page should be something like this:
    https://console.firebase.google.com/u/0/project/{project_ID}/settings/cloudmessaging/
Where {project_ID} is your project ID.

There is no need to add the “add Firebase to your webapp” snippet to your code.

    Kind regards,
    Nico

Hi @sayhellogmbh Yes I tried all that, should work straight away, I’m using the long Key and my ID from a slightly different URL:

    https://console.firebase.google.com/project/{project_ID}/settings/cloudmessaging/

I’m thinking maybe some plugin, theme or Cloudflare might be blocking it because I see no output in the code that is related to Firebase. Where or how can I check if the connection is being made? Or where can I find the code output?

Exact same problem here. I use the correct Server Key and Sender ID, but it doesn’t work. Same error saying it could not be verified.

It’s the same for me like Khaliel user.

    Hi there

Thanks for all the feedback. Could someone send their key and ID to nico@sayhello.ch so i can try it myself and do some bugfixing?

    Kind regards,
    Nico

@nico_martin Hello, I’m sorry I deleted the Firebase project and I’m testing OpenSignal for now. But for the record my install is PHP7 with Enfold theme connecting from a domain associated with a legacy Google Apps account. I’ve set up Firebase in this same account for an Android app – and for a different domain webapp- and it worked fine but that was a couple years ago.

@milus783 @khaliel Lets compare installations, now I’m thinking maybe it is a Firebase issue since all my logs and console were clear.
