 * Hello!
    I’m trying to install a child theme for twentytwelve and I’ve done the
   following steps and I receive this error: Server error The website encountered
   an error while retrieving [http://marsmarineac.com/here/wp-admin/themes.php](http://marsmarineac.com/here/wp-admin/themes.php)?
   action=activate&template=twentytwelve&stylesheet=childoftwentytwelve&_wpnonce
   =57cd8a101a. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are
   some suggestions: Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server 
   Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting
   to fulfill the request.
 * Here are the steps I’ve taken:
    1. downloaded a copy of WP 3.5.1 to a directory
   on the site called here 2. downloaded another copy of WP 3.5.1 to my mac in the
   applications folder 3. in the themes folder, copied the twentytwelve folder and
   called it childoftwentytwelve 4. deleted the style.css file 5. created another
   style.css file and wrote this in it: /* Theme Name: Child of Twenty Twelve Description:
   Child theme created for (xx) Author: (xx) Version: 0.0.1 Template: twentytwelve*/
 * 6. Compressed the folder and uploaded it to the folder called here
    7. When I
   try to activate the theme called child of.., I get the message above 8. Further,
   when I return to Bluehost and try to get back to the WP admin at SimpleScripts,
   I get this message: The website encountered an error while retrieving [http://marsmarineac.com/here/](http://marsmarineac.com/here/).
   It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
   Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected
   condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.
 * I have been working on customizing several themes and have had no problems activating
   my child themes at this stage before. Can anyone tell me what’s happening and
   how to fix it? I tried deleting all the files and reinstalling WP both to my 
   machine and to the here folder, but every time I try to activate the child theme,
   I get the same thing.

 * OK- got it. I see now.
 * If I cannot get to WP without a server error message, should I uninstall WP and
   then reinstall it?

 * No – just delete your child theme using FTP.
