Support » Fixing WordPress » Server crashes when publishing an article

  • Hi there

well, since a lot of days I’ve got trouble when creating a new post or page. After clicking “Publish” the server-load exploses to 500 – 600%.

My Hosting-company said, the wp-cron.php makes the trouble, so (I’m sorry) I deleted this file, but it’s not helping.

Well … the server load is to high and the memory-usage is really to high.

What can I do to solve the problem?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

How many posts & pages do you have in your database? Do you use any form of revision control? What permalink structure are you using?

    i have 450 blogs 15,000 pages
and suffering from the same problem..

    my server keeps blocking excess
    becouse the server overloads

anyone got an idea why ?

i wanted to upgrade but can’t find
wordpress MU in hebrew to download
