• Hi

I pulled the trigger and bought ZenCache and have been playing with speed tests. Having tested the others and having found that, with my server, WP-FFPC was the fastest, I was pleased to see ZenCache bettering that by another 10%. What else can any of us do? My server is fast, not shared, and WordPress adds 2.5 to 3 seconds to the first page load in TTFB (with the page then bursting really fast int sight). I will admit my site is a bit plugin heavy, but that is life today. What more can I do?

I have Apache 2.4.12/PHP 5.5.22/MariaDB 10.0.17. I figured out how to enable Zend Opcache with APCu, and Memcache/Memcached. I installed the APCu Object Cache for WordPress. This is as far as I can go given that it is a SolusVM cloud VPS (OpenVZ) with Centos 6.6 running cPanel 11.48 and Easyapache 3.28.4. It is not shared.

Is that all I can do? I did try nginx as a reverse proxy, but that was far from stable, so I re-built the server and started again.

I know that cPanel 11.50 will bring EasyApache 4 (beta) which will allow PHP 5.6, and PHP-FPM. And it seems (?) close as I can see a 11.50 change log page on the cpanel site nominally for 11.50 (dated March 4 2015), but is headed 11.49.9999.51 (how much closer can the numbering get, I wonder?).

Is there any more I can do?

I just had an unofficial reply to say that cPanel 11.50 and EasyApache 4 will release on Tuesday 10 March 2015, 3 days away.

TTFB is an issue and to be honest, I don’t know what is causing that. If you Google WordPress TFFB, you’ll see tonnes if tickets & questions related to this and no matter what I try, I cannot get pass it.

    /From WP-FFPC- point of view./

Agreed, TTFB is an issue that the WP core team seem unable or unwilling to resolve.

I have tried everything I can think of, and that is all I can do.
