    Hi all,

I am having serious problems extracting structured (meta) data from the website of my small start-up company (http://www.imagars.com).

    Observations
    1. When I type in Imagars website
    http://www.imagars.com
    into the Google Testing Tool
    https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/
    I received the following message:
    No structured data present
    2. I was quite surprised, because I had been diligently providing meta data key words, focus key words, SEO title, meta description, etc. to the Add Meta Tags and WordPress SEO plugins.

    Questions
    1. How can get the Google Testing Tool to recognize the meta data provided?
    2. Would it help to update the version of WordPress or look for alternative plugins?
    – I am using WordPress ver. 3.5.1, ver. 2.6.2 of the Add Meta Tags plugin and ver. 1.4.12 of the WordPress SEO plugin.
    – [I don’t want to imply that the plugins themselves are to blame. It is quite possible that I am somehow using them incorrectly.]

Any helpful nuggets would be most appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Baldur

P.S. Prior to posting this message, I took a quick look at the instructions on how to provide the structured data
    https://developers.google.com/custom-search/docs/structured_data
As far as I could tell, the usefulness of these instructions was limited by the fact that I was not handwriting the html code (the WordPress was generating it automatically). Hence, I had somewhat limited control of what the final html looked like (from what I could tell).

P.P.S. Here is the header of the source code provided to the Google Testing Tool:

[Large code excerpt removed by moderator per forum rules. Please use the pastebin for all large code excerpts. It works better anyway.]

    Hello,

As far as Add-Meta-Tags is concerned, please make sure you enable the generation of Schema.org metadata in the plugin settings (Settings->Metadata).

    Thanks a lot, George!!

Per your suggestion, I have completed the following steps:
    1. In the WordPress, I selected Settings > Metadata.
    2. For Schema.org Metadata, I enabled the automatic generation and embedding of Schema.org Microdata.
    3. I disabled the automatic generation of the description meta tag.
    4. I disabled the automatic generation of the keywords meta tag.
    5. Under ‘Default Image’, Provided a link to our logo.
    6. In the Google Testing Tool, I re-fetched and validated the data.
    – The Testing Tool now reports ‘All good’.
    [ What a surprise! ]

Later today, I intend to issue a request to have the Google Crawler to re-crawl the site. I will then be checking the results.

Thanks again! You just saved my day.

    Best regards,
    Baldur

    Glad it works fine Baldur!

    Kind Regards,
    George
