I’m not sure if it’s my theme or woocommerce, I have a very good server with Digital ocean. But look what happens when I add or updates product with many variations: https://imgur.com/JY1IGy0

Any help would be great. My site is still down 10 minutes later.

While WooCommerce does not have a preset maximum number of variations, they can be a drain on performance. The graph that you sent over does confirm it is maxing out your available CPU resources.

Here are a few ways that I’ve seen people reduce the load on their servers with variations:

    1. They break up the variable product into multiple products. They take one of the larger variations and use that as the basis for separate products. That can greatly reduce the number of variations which can speed things up.
      • Since the available CPU resources are completely used up, one option would be to increase those resources in your Digital Ocean droplet.
      • Another option would be to use Product Add-ons instead of variations (or some variations). Product Add-ons works differently and doesn’t carry the same performance costs as variations. Some users have found it works well for their situation.

You might also try temporarily disabling your other plugins and testing again. I’ve also seen plugin conflicts cause issues with variations taking too long to load.

Let us know what you turn up.

Hi thanks for the help. I’m still having this issue.

    1. I can’t do this unfortunately.
    2. I doubled my CPU from 2 vCPUs to 4 vCPUs and still having the same issue.
    3. I might try this but it would be good if you could fix the variations. No reason why 150 variations should max out 4 CPUs. It’s ridiculous.
