Series Info Doubled in Excerpt

Edit: (It seems this has been brought up before, but was not resolved.)

For me, using a clean install and default settings, the series information is displayed both normally as as part of content the when viewing an excerpt.

e.g.
[properly displayed series info] This entry is 1 of 3 of a cool series.
[followed by a excerpt content of] This entry is 1 of 3 of a cool series.This is the beginning of my post text here with the series info smushed on the front.

When attempting to debug my issue, I notice that the doubled text is present before add_series_meta_excerpt does a string replace. But I haven’t figured more.

The plugin is great (nav, widget, customization) but I can’t use it unless I understand what is causing this. Thanks.

(Also, I cannot really be sure that I’m getting a clean install, as org-series info is still left in the database even when the “remove from database when deleting” option is checked in settings.)
