  • Resolved Lorraine

Hi there – I have had issues that I feel are related to serialization. I have a few issues in the admin panel however as my admin area in the subsites is fine I am almost certain my wp_options file was rather eagerly changed to the new server settings.

Does anyone know of a good way to correct, I have seen there are scripts around but I don’t want to juts have a go as my site is live. Obviously I will back up but I need to be as careful as possible.

Any advice will be really appreciated.

Unless you’re god’s gift to DBs, that’s what we use :/

Can I use this on my live install to correct my issues, the client has made a lot of changes already on the live server. I appreciate I may need to track them back and change if I need to. Having read the info on search and replace it appears to be geared toward moving it in advance. As you can tell, I’m, terrified of making it worse. Your help is appreciated, sorry if I’m sounding naive.

Make a backup first, but there really is no other way of a serialization safe search/replace

Thanks, I have now got a clean version of the database running and I can now upload images, new posts and access widgets so I think I have got over the serialisation issue. I have another but I’ll start a new thread if I can’t find an answer elsewhere.

    Thanks for your help.
