Support » Fixing WordPress » Sequencing static pages with comments, but it is not a blog

  • Before I start butchering my installation to implement the above, I rather ask now for something already well known than coming back multiple times trying to resolve problems I created while trying things on my own.

I wish to use WP as a manuscript system with each article allowing for comment on that article.

Articles are under chapters and those could be categories. But I need serialization within each category and/or sub-category.

It looks like blogging, except the article sequence is given by the prior article, not by date. For any given article, comments should function as if I had published a post, and date-sorting of comments is as usual.

Version 2.3 presumably will offer static pages along with blogging, but this is now, and 2.3 may be off quite a while, and may still not offer what I need here.

  • Why do you need static Pages for this?
(FYI: Pages are present for a long time!)

    Explain this one:
except the article sequence is given by the prior article, not by date
