I want to appologize up front in case this topic has already been asked or if its pretty easy/stupid. I’m pretty new to WordPress and blogging in general, and am on quite the learning curve.
Is there a way to set up WordPress so that only the Admin’s posts and his choosen author’s posts show up on the front of the site (the index I think) and have a seperate section where user’s topics will be posted. Basically, I was checking out some blogs and loved the way the DailyKos set up their blog, such that the owner of the site and his choosen authers were able to have their topics on the front of the page, while the users of the site could have thier posts displayed in the “Diary” section. I’m still learning how to link, so I just have the URL if someone wants to check out what I mean:
While I understand that they use different software than WordPress, I figure there has got to be a way to do it, involving setting different user’s level so that if someone was like lvl 7 or under, their posts would be on the “User’s Posts” section, but if you were lvl 8 or above, they would go to the main page.
Any leads, information, or ideas on where to begin would be great.
If no one has really seen this done before and has a suggestion on how to create it, I would be very grateful.
