Separation of static/dynamic content

  • Here’s something that’s on my wishlist for upcoming releases:
I’d like to see a way to segregate the static/dynamic content on the main index page, so that if we have a transition like from 0.70 to 0.71 where the main blog-loop gets changed, I don’t have to cut/paste a bunch of stuff. The ideal case would be that the main loop (basically, the #content div) is just included in from another file.
It’s an especially good feature if you’ve gone away from the standard 2-column layout in favor of something like the bluerobot 3-column one.

  • When we move to using the Smarty templating system, the presentation will be completely separate from the code and such problems will practically disappear.
