Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Seo title doesn’t update (gets overridden by default variables)

    Hello,

I have this problem. I can not edit the seo title within the page settings. The description is fine, but title always goes back to default one (variables set in the settings -> content types). I tried deleting all the variables – it doesn’t help.

I did everything I could by now. All the plugins and themes work well together.

    Please help.

If you remove all of the SEO title variables, there would be no title. Therefore, the plugin automatically adds the default variables back. If you would like a custom title, please remove the default variables and type a custom title.

If the custom title does not save, this likely means something conflicts during the save process. Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen. In this limited environment, try saving a custom title again.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.
