Support » Plugin: The SEO Framework » SEO title changes

  • Hello Support,

I’ve added my title onto the SEO framework but for some reason the title is being “switched”. Title in SEO framework is :
Yates Cartagena | Alquiler de Lanchas Y Yates en Cartagena⚓️

But in google results it turns out to be >

“”Alquiler de Lanchas Y Yates en Cartagena⚓️ – Yates Cartagena

See also how it changes the standing bar to a hyphen.
Could you please let me know what I’m missing here?

Thank you and looking forward to your reply to get this sorted!

    Hello!

In the link below, under “Why the search result title might differ from the page’s <title> tag,” Google explains why the titles may not represent what you’ve put in:

In your case, Google “thought,” for whatever reason, it’d be better to flip the title parts. When they do so, they use a default hyphen.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about this behavior.

It is odd to me, however, that they sometimes use precisely the same text, but they flip the order. I would guess the cause is that your homepage isn’t located at the root URL /, but at /co/ instead.

Google doesn’t seem to treat your homepage as a homepage. This is evident because they’re adding a breadcrumb in their search results: example.com > .... The SEO Framework treats it as your homepage, implied further via structured data, so Google might catch on after some time passes. Maybe fixing the “Inicio” menu link will speed up this process (make it /co/, not /co).

Ultimately, you can’t control how search engines treat your website. You can only hope to steer them in the right direction.
