SEO Score od existing posts not calculated
-
Hi,
I want to switch from YOAST to Rank Math.BUT: is it true, that I have to open and save all existing posts to get the SEO Score calculated?
I ran a text with a scmaller website and that was the result of my tests.I have over 1.000 posts, so that would be impossible…
Thanks for any hints and tipps

Hello @hlorenz,
Thank you for contacting the support.
The SEO scores can’t be imported to the Rank Math plugin since we use different metrics than other SEO plugins to determine the content’s effectiveness and optimization.
We use Google’s latest ranking factors that pertain to one’s on-page content, to determine if the content is well-optimized, and assign a score based on various tests we run on the content.
You can follow the following guide to reach 100 scores:
https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/But please stay advised that these tests are just guidelines, and one does not need to follow them religiously.
At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines.
Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.
While we are at it, we highly recommend going through the following guides to set up the plugin completely and correctly:

Hi,
I know that the rankings cannot be impported from YOAST…My question is: do I have to open & save every single post to have the new Rank Math SEO score calculated?
Best regards
HeikeHello @hlorenz
Yes, that is the way.
But, we do not recommend that.
Instead, this is what you can do:
You can open the top performing posts and edit them to have Rank Math’s scores. You can follow the following guide to reach 100:
https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/But please stay advised that these tests are just guidelines and one does not need to follow them religiously.
At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines.
Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.
Hope that helps. Thank you.
Hm – sad to hear that…
So a switch of plugins is not really an option for me…Hello @hlorenz
So sorry to disappoint but importing SEO scores is not an option from other SEO plugins since they have different tests. Rank Math uses latest tests that are proven to help in the rankings.
With that said, SEO scores are not a guarantee to get ranked higher. No plugin can offer that.
Please let us know if we can assist you further with this. We are here to help.
Thank you.
Hello,
again: I didn’t want to “import” any rankings!I just wanted (new) Rank Math Rankings for all of my posts – but that is impossible, if I have to open & save every post manually, cause as I alredy wrote: there are more than 1.000 of them.
Would be helpfull, if there was a function to calcluate Rank Math SEO scores on existing posts.
Thank you.
Hello @hlorenz
You should not be updating the SEO score of Rank Math unless you update something in the content.
As mentioned earlier, the SEO score does not impact the rankings of your website.
There are far more benefits when you move to Rank Math.
You can check them all here:
https://rankmath.com/alternative-for-yoast/With that being said, there are existing feature requests, so I’ve added your vote to our internal suggestions lists. If your suggestions are something that we’re able to introduce, I’ll be sure to let you know.
Hope that helps. Thank you.
Dear RankMath,
you don’t seem to understand what my question is…If I install Rank Math on a existing website with over 1.000 posts, than there is no SEO score for all the existing posts hence I cannot “update” any score.
I would have the score to be calculated for existing posts, which is only possible if I open and save every existing post manually – and that is far from beeing possible.
Maybe in a future release that will be possible by the plugin itself and from than on a switch of plugins will be possible for me.
Thanks
HeikeHello @hlorenz
Sorry for the confusion but we got what you are mentioning.
Calculating the scores is not required for the plugin to function properly. The scoring system is only for the internal use.
As suggested earlier, here’s the workflow we recommend to websites that are big like yours:
1. Import all the data from your other SEO plugin:
https://rankmath.com/kb/yoast-seo-migration/2. Connect your website to Rank Math’s Analytics module
https://rankmath.com/kb/analytics/
and once the data populates, then choose the top performing posts.
Open such posts and since the focus keyword(s) would be already imported, the initial scores would be calculated as soon as you open the posts. Now, you can optimize your top performing posts by checking the recommendations suggested by the RM plugin and get the final scores for your posts.Otherwise, you can open Google Analytics and start by optimizing the top performing posts and then way your work up the ladder.
Importing scores from other plugins would not be a good idea at all since they are not a ranking factor and the tests offered by the Rank Math plugin are updated according to Google’s standards and our internal findings (which works great).
Hope that clears the situation and provides a possible solution.
Please let us know if there’s anything more that we can help you with. Thank you.
