I’m having problems with the SEO data that Facebook uses to create an image of a page (og:description in particular). As I’m using a Suffusion custom template with only widgets, there is no text on the page itself. When I try to share the website on Facebook, it picks up the website title and URL fine but instead of a description it uses the widget shortcode:
[suffusion-widgets id=’1′] [suffusion-widgets id=’2′] [suffusion-widgets id=’3′] [suffusion-widgets id=’4′] [suffusion-widgets id=’5′] [suffusion-widgets id=’6′]
This is reflected in the source code of the homepage.
1) putting a description in Suffusion’s own SEO settings but it doesn’t get put into the og:description tag
2) disabling the SEO settings and use a 3rd party plugin instead but this is over-ruled by Suffusion’s own, incomplete SEO tags.
Nothing has worked. I’ve even tried turning off all plugins on the site to see if anything is interfering with the theme but it remains the same. This is clearly a problem with the theme.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone found a way round it (or can suggest something) as I’ve run out of ideas now.
