SEO issue… Good Idea or Bad?

Ok so i am trying to figure out the potential of multisite.

I am setting up lead generation systems. Domains (15-20) have all been researched. I will be setting up each of these sites with slightly different content, by simply altering my “template”(mostly structure), different html, css, etc.

I want to keep these on separate IP’s so google won’t penalize me on any of them. Maybe posting this is a bad idea… lol.

Here is my question:

If I host sitea.com, site1.com, sitec.com on 1st hosting account.
siteb.com site2.com sited.com on 2nd hosting account
sitec.com site3.com, etc. on 3rd hosting account

Can I manage ALL of these sites… on separate hosting/IPs with one multisite manager?

FYI- The idea behind this is that I will throw a set amount of SEM @ all sites and keep the lead gen sites that work/have high PR etc, and just auction off the ones that are sub-performing.
