SEO ideas for Job Manager?

  • I’m really looking to push some jobs using the Job Manager (which btw is a fantastic plug-in Gary)using SEO strategies. We’re getting good amounts of response and lots of applications but I’d just like to see current jobs show up in google when you type in our company name. I know you don’t really have any functionality built into the plugin for this but i was curious if you had any suggestions for any other plugins to allow me to give job categories and posts that SEO attention I’m looking for.

    Thanks!

  • I’m using Job Manager as well, and agree is a great plug in. (http://www.catalystpsi.com)

When I looked to increase our SEO for the site, I found your post here, and would like to know what you’ve figured out.

I’m using SEOmoz.org for SEO management, and just last month created a list of search phrases that we are using as a meta description. We have 18 search phrases, which mostly reflect the jobs to highlight, ex: ‘psychologist job Fort Knox Kentucky’ which seem to get decent rankings. Of the 18 phrases, 9 are found and 2 on the first page.

When I type in Catalyst PSI, Google displays the home page link, the meta description and 3 pages: contact us, About Us and ‘Physician Assistants’ which leads me to believe that search phrase gets a good ranking.

If you have learned any more since your posting, would you share with me please?
    thanks,
    Ingrid
