Hi @austinginder,
Thanks for your message.
It certainly shoulnd’t be doing that. Are you editing the post after scheduling it at all? Or are you literally just writing it and then pressing schedule and WordPress then sends out more than one notification for it?
The second. I’m writing a post and as soon as I hit schedule multiple emails go out. Sometimes it’s 2 duplicates sometimes 3 or 4. On a development copy of the site I’ve narrowed it down to the new block editor. I’ve confirmed this behavior goes away if I install the classic editor plugin.

Hi @austinginder,
Ah, yes. That’ll be the reason. Full Block Editor (Gutenberg) support will come but it’s not ready yet. In the meantime, I’ll see what I can do about preventing the duplicates for scheduled post. Regular new posts were fixed in the last update.
Ah okay, sounds good. Yes a patch fix for the repeating emails would be great!

Hi @austinginder,
Looking into this again at the mo.
Just to check: are you using the latest versions of BNFW and WordPress?
I am, WordPress v5.2 and BNFW v1.7.3.

Hi @austinginder,
This was added to the most recent update of BNFW and subsequent future updates should help with this. Thanks for bearing with me whilst I investigated – it actually is a bug in the Block Editor which hasn’t been fixed yet.
Great, thanks for the followup. I can confirm it’s working better since the update however it still appears to be double sending ever time I click schedule. At least now it’s not sending more than 2 copies.

Hi @austinginder,
I’ve been testing this but I can’t seem to replicate it.
Using the latest version of BNFW, I’m using the Block Editor to create a new, scheduled post, but it only sends out a single notification for me. I’ve tried with several users in different user roles but can’t seem to trigger an unwanted secondary notification.
Are there any plugins that could be hooking into the post at time of saving/scheduling/publishing on your site? Social sharing plugins, for example, have been known to trigger duplicate notifications on occasion.
I’ll have to play around with my site to see if I can pinpoint a pattern. Thanks for the followup!
