    I have Form Maker 1.9.11 installed in my version of WP, yet all my test emails are sent “via (hosting provider)”, using PHPMailer I assume, and therefore ALL email ends up in the spam folder. I also have the plugin WP Email SMTP…and using that plugin’s “test email” function sends mail via SMTP correctly…

    Is there a way to correct the email function of FM in order for your plugin to send mail via SMTP? Thanks!

    @jamichelli76,

    The Spam issue is not directly related to PHPMailer. But in Email Options, you can change php to smtp send out options. It will work based on settings within the mentioned plugin. Thanks.

    @support-web-dorado,

    Are you saying to change the settings in WP Email SMTP to send out email via smtp instead of php? If so, that’s already been done.

    I installed the WP Email SMTP plugin, changed the settings and put in all my smtp settings, and tested the plugin by sending several emails to myself. The test emails send from that plugin’s “Test Email” tab work great…all email is send from my domain as it should.

    It’s when I try to send email from a form that I’ve created using Form Maker that things get messed up. Instead of sending out via smtp as the test emails from the WP Email SMTP “Test Email” tab, Form Maker is sending email out apparently via php as it hits my spam folder. The “From” line sends out email via my hosting provider’s server…and that gets it marked as spam.

    Any other suggestions or possibly something I’m missing?

    I’m going to close this thread as “resolved”…I changed the email plugin that I’m using from WP Email SMTP, which seems to be buggy for more users than just me, to Postman SMTP. Postman seems to have resolved the issue on the first try.
