This is most likely due to a Javascript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers Javascript Conflicts.
yes, I am having same issue since latest Contact update
I have gone through the various plugins that I can afford to deactivate but still an issue.
With the latest wordpress update last week it knocked off several things on me so don’t know if there is a conflict with the new wordpress update and the contact from.
As above, email comes through fine but for the user they receive the spinning icon.

Im having exactly the same issue
GA event is not registered and the success message is not shown.
However, if I remove de on_sent_ok hook the message is shown.
Is there another way I could register the event? Or another workaround for this?
I’m also getting the same issue. When the users clicks send the spinning icon appears but nothing to indicate the message was sent.
I’ve also noticed recaptch wasnt working as it lost the private and public keys, seems this was due to a new version is available for recaptcha.

Your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.
The plugin is working for me on many different websites and several different servers. Any issue you have is almost certainly due to something on your local WP install.
You will probably be mistaken if you focus on this happening since the last update – it’s most likely just a coincidence.
