Send out transactional email as plain text emails without fancy layout: plugin?

    Hi.
    I’m looking for a way to change the layout of woocommerce’s transactional emails.
    Just a plain straight forward, plain text email. With custom text I can add but no fancy boxes, no fancy layout.
    Maybe a button for the download to the digital product the customer just purchased.

    Do I need a plugin to achieve this?

    I already have one but it’s really unreliable with different email providers and on mobile view.

    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Are you using plain text now? There is an option in WooCommerce > Settings / Emails tab > Manage > Email type dropdown. Set to plain text.

    To customise the emails, first setup a child theme if you have not already done so. Copy the provided templates from:
    wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/emails/plain…
    to
    wp-content/themes/my-child-theme-name/woocommerce/emails/plain…
    and edit the copies.
