Hi @maxence1502
Thanks for your question.
Option 1. A customer could enter the address of the gift recipient (to whom he wants to send that product) for the shipping address, and complete the checkout. So the recipient receives a prepaid product as a gift.
Option 2. Here is an article about how your customers will be able to order gifts. It includes the feature to redirect a product to a different address.
I hope this helps!
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as closed – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
Hello!
Sorry, I havn’t received the email notification.
About the option 1, I sell virtual products, there is no shipping
Hi @maxence1502
I sell virtual products, there is no shipping
Thanks for clarifying. If I am understanding correctly, are you looking for a way to redirect a purchased virtual product to a different email address than the buyer?
Hello there,
Please refer to this thread below to get more information:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/allow-gifting-of-virtual-digital-products/
I hope this provides clarity.
Hello,
Not really, this is only for subscriptions. I sell digital products but not subscriptions.
Is it possible to use this plugin for a simple product ?
Hello,
Is it possible to use this plugin for a simple product ?
If you are referring to Gifting for WooCommerce Subscriptions, this plugin only works if you have WooCommerce Subscriptions active in your store.
Since your products are not subscriptions, one option would be to use PDF Product Vouchers – a user can include recipient’s email address, and a separate email will be sent to that email address with the voucher PDF attached.
I already have this plugin but that’s only to give an amount of money as a voucher.
That’s not to give a product to someone else
For digital/downloadable products, the functionality you are looking for is not yet implemented. However, there is already an idea submitted for this on our Ideas Board. I encourage you to vote on it there as that is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.
Possibly, other third-party plugins could allow gifting digital/downloadable products, but we are not aware of them and cannot recommend any at this moment.
You could still achieve this through custom coding. For additional assistance on this topic, we recommend getting in touch with one of the customization experts listed on the WooCommerce Customizations Page.
Also, if you are into coding, you can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers
channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack, you could find help from the community of open-source developers for WooCommerce that hangs in there.
I hope this is helpful and points you in the right direction. Let us know if you have more questions.
Cheers!
Given how long this idea has been around, I don’t think it will see the light of day in the next few months.
Thanks anyway
Hello there,
That idea is great, unfortunately, we do not have an ETA to be implemented once it is sent to the ideas board
However, there are developers that may help you out to implement this request using custom code.
I hope this leads you in the right direction.
I’ll go ahead and mark the thread as closed but please feel free to create a new thread if you have other questions.
