Self-hosted WP Uninstalled Itself?

  • I’ve been using self-hosted WP for years without trouble. I use HostGator.com for hosting, very few issues.

My blog was working this morning and now displays the “Install.php” page and I’ve no idea what to do next to fix this.

After searching the forums, I first repaired my SQL database using PhpAdmin, no luck. I then ran a repair on just the wp_options table, no luck either.

I then (probably a dumb idea) let Fantastico upgrade my WP to the 3.1 version (believe I was on 2.8.6 beforehand), no luck there.

I can see all my files still exist in my wp_posts table.. so.. help appreciated! The only solutions I’ve found so far searching the web are the ones I’ve tried with no results.

    Fingers crossed! 🙂

WordPress cannot un-install itself. This is a hosting issue. Try contacting your hosts.

Check with hostgator if they can restore your wordpress with most recent backup as most major host do keep backups
