Selecting from Existing Tags Prompt in Quick Edit Creates Duplicate Tag

    In the admin list of posts, when I choose Quick Edit for a post, and begin typing to add a tag, the existing tags prompt pops up, and I can choose an existing tag. However when I go to the admin list of tags, WP has created a new tag — duplicate name but different slug name. How can this behavior be corrected?
