Selecting a primary Tag

  • We’re looking for a way to allow the author to select a primary Tag from the list of tags added to the Tag widget in the post/page admin.

We know that Tags are not written to the database until AFTER the user publishes the post. We’re able to get the Tags with javascript, but we haven’t been able to print the Tags to a new admin widget, so that the user can select a primary tag. Or, don’t print the tags to another widget, but click on the tags that are set already.

We’re trying to use document.write after .ready that says all the tags have loaded on the page, so grab them and print them to the new widget. But that’s not working. I’m not sure .ready is the correct attribute to use.

    Any ideas?

  • A friend suggested using innerHTML() and if using jquery, than the .load function. Sounds like something we’re gonna try, instead of document.write.
