 * Is the decimal system available only store wide on activation of your plugin 
   or can it be limited to certain products and product categories?

 * So i think it is handled at a single product level correct and I could set the
   default values to not use it so the majority of the products would just work 
   as normal. And in the category field you can select a label like grams, meters
   etc (I had already done this anyway but thats a cool feature).
   The products on
   the system I am setting up use an inventory system which is the source of truth.
   What I wondered was if there was a way to actually assign the ability to use 
   decimals by categories to save doing each product indivudually and having them
   overwritten when products are added and removed from the inventory system.I have
   been using a bit of a hack to do anything from the inventory system. It allows
   you add custom fields so I just create a custom field with a certain value and
   then put that in a function with a conditional statement checking for that value
   and if true I apply it so they can then still manage everything from the inventory
   system.

 * For Product Categories, only Parameters can be common: “Minimum”, “Maximum”, “
   Quantity change step”.
   The price cannot be general for the entire Category.
 * I can do that, but I’m afraid that most people will simply not understand such
   a hierarchy.

 * Actually I think this working on variable products would make sense. We want 
   to be able to sell one variable in 0.25 increments but another only in 0.5 increaments.
   
   On another products totally we can only sell in singlar increments. So site wide
   option is not great.
 * For instance we have fabric we sell by the metre and we want to sell in 0.25 
   increments but other products such as cotton reals which can only be sold in 
   singlar values.

    1. Different variations of the same Product can have different settings.
       But this
       is in the Pro version. You can see Demo. The link is in the description of the
       plugin.
    2. You can set Step/Min/Max for the entire Category of Products, but each Product
       can have its own settings.
       This works in the usual version of the plugin.
