Support » Plugin: WP Custom Fields Search » Select post types has no dropdown options

  • I am trying to eliminate Trashed Posts from showing up in the dropdown list on my search page.

In the preset’s General area, Post Types to show:
    Show default post types:
    Select post types:
there are no options in the dropdown.

I only want site visitors to see Published Posts in my selection lists.

Sorry for the slow reply, I was trying to reproduce the problem but I think I may have misunderstood it.

Is it that you have a dropdown for selecting post type in your public facing search form and want to restrict which post types the public can see?

This would be separate from the post types configured in the general area. Currently the dropdown on the public facing site would display all post types regardless (including those which have no published posts, and those which are explicitly disabled in the general settings.) I should probably integrate these two settings, but that’s not trivial so I’ll leave that for a future release.

If you want to configure which post types are shown as options in the dropdown you would need to configure these manually. In the form editor, go to the post type field, click the settings button next to the input selector (should probably say “Dropdown”) and change the data-source from “Auto” to “Manual”. you should now be able to list out just the post-types you want.
