    Hello,
on the season delicatessen site we add via Germanized the button “Add to cart” directly on the overview of all products. This works perfectly.
For the variable products, a button appears that says “Ausführung wählen” (I guess it is the “Select Option” translation). This button should (at least that’s what customers expect) lead to the product page, where they can make their selection. However, it automatically adds the smallest unit of variations to the cart. Could anyone please tell us how to change this?

    Thanks and best,
    Josef

    Hi @josefhajda,

I’ve performed some cross-testing for us today on several of my sites which have the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and our free Storefront theme as the only enabled software. When doing so I’ve not been able to replicate the behaviour which you describe with The select options button adding products directly to cart.

On all of our test installations the Select Options button which is visible on WooCommerce product categories takes the customer to the product page to select the variable options.

From what you have described, it could be code from another plugin or theme which has caused a possible conflict and affected the functionality of WooCommerce.

To see if that is the case we’d suggest carrying out a conflict test on your site by disabling all other plugins aside from WooCommerce along with switching to a theme like Storefront. This will help with trying to and locate what software you have installed which could possibly be causing this behaviour? You could use a free plugin called Health Check and Troubleshooting to carry out such testing.

When in Troubleshooting mode all plugins will be deactivated and only the admin of the site carrying out the troubleshooting would see those changes. Any customers visiting the site would see no changes at all.

Once you have disabled all other plugins and switched theme if the behaviour is resolved you can then enabled your theme and sites plugins testing after each one is enabled until the behaviour returns to locate the culprit.

Hello @stuartduff and thank you for the fast reply.

Espeacially the healtch check plugin sounds great.
I am 99,9% sure that the situation ist linked to the germanized plugin as these buttons (also the “add to cart”) are injected via a Germanized option. I already wrote them. We will see. Thank you!

    Best,
    Josef

    HEy @josefhajda,

From my testing for us, it does seem like something other than the WooCommerce plugin itself is affecting the functionality of the Select Options button in particular. If it was an issue with WooCommerce all installations would also display the same behaviour too.

For reference, you can see a default installation of WooCommerce below where the category only has variable products located on it. This site uses the latest versions of WordPress + WooComerce and the free Storefront theme.
