• Either I am missing something obvious or this plugin is not working at all, i.e. it is not blocking anything.

    1. I go to my site, to verify XML-RPC (http://example.com/xmlrpc.php) and I see: “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only”.

    2. I go to my site’s configuration, to “XML-RPC Settings” and CHECK “Disable XML-RPC: Only check this if you want to block/disable all XML-RPC request”.

    3. I go back to my site, to verify XML-RPC again and I again see “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only”.

    So, no change.

  • Hi @trejder,
seems as if this plugin is dead. No reply, no updates.
I switched to “Disable XML-RPC” by Philip Erb, this is extremely simple and does a good job. That plugin just adds a filter, so there are no issues with compatibility with current WP versions at all …

    Hi @bsoftde,

thanks for your advise and bringing this up. Surely, seems that this plugin is dead.

I was not looking for an replacement, as I don’t need such solution. I was rather verifying why three of my blogs are not responding to external calls (like connecting Jetpack, accessing them from WordPress.com or doing site verification with Google Search or Microsoft Bing).

I was suspecting blocked XML-RPC calls and started testing this plugin only to find out (by an accident) that it seems to be not working at all.
