seems like css isn’t working in ie 5 for mac, formatting wrong…

  • I am new to WP, and my page is not displaying correctly for IE mac. Can anyone with a pc or mac check and see if the results are inconsistent with the screen grab? Here is a link to the screen grab from safari (the way it SHOULD look).

    Thanks

btw, I don’t know much about php, but I am very eager to learn. Sorry if these are stupid questions…

  • A link to the site you want to compare the screengrab to would be helpful.

CSS is what controls the how your web site looks, not PHP. IE5 for the mac has a number of problems rendering modern designs, and unless you have a lot of users in your target audience using it, you are probably best to not worry about it…. unless you want a crash course in CSS. I recommend you google for positioniseverything and css-d as a couple of places to get started.

This is MacWise’s site: http://redlens.com/brooks/journal and it looks horrible in IE 5 for Mac.

If you can convince you viewers to dump Mac IE, do so now. It was officially discontinued 3 years ago.

Any ideas how it looks in FF for windows or IE for windows? I am not too concerned about mac IE, only that I want to make sure it is not a problem with my permissions or configuration somehow. I realize that css and php are two different things… I am just not sure if IEMac is not getting the correct message to read the css file, as I am nearly tone-deaf when it comes to php. (if that makes any sense)

Looks fine in IE6 and FF 1.0.4 on WinXP/SP2 (except where the tagline text overlaps the construction sign because it gets hard to read on the busy background).
