Seems excellent plugin, service; how-to guides could use improvements
-
I’m new to this plugin – as I work on a 2nd Woocommerce store, try for some better layouts and functionality.
Firstly: it seems an excellent plugin, can do lots; I’ve tried 2 or 3 others that are well known, seem highly rated, but less functionality especially before start paying [alas, I make barely any sales].
I did get confused, however; and had prompt, very good responses from Shahriar and Owadud.
Initially not five stars here, though, as I got rather muddled with the how-to info.
For instance, a “tutorial” video is more a product promo. Some instructions include things like how to add plugins, when I wanted info on actually using the plugin.
Then, I especially got confused in using a template for shop/home pages. While publishing these does result in website pages that can be viewed, it does not create Pages as WordPress sees them.
Trying to change links to homepage, to make it a WordPress Page I created, had no effect: still seeing the page as per wowstore template. Switching the template to “draft” reversed this; so I could again see the Page as listed by WordPress [I learned this by trying; the info is rather tucked away within a video].
There’s more to do with instructions; like simplifying; also making it easier to view the templates [as with lightbox??]
And then: well then there are umpteen possibilities for how to change and enhance a Woocommerce store, with Wowstore and its multiple templates, blocks, settings and more.
For myself, just baby steps: I like having the filters for potential customers to use, so they could readily view grids of products selected by specific categories, or product tags.
I have drafted some notes on using wowstore; will perhaps revised and add to these over time.
And I realise I should do more with the related PostX plugin – been using this for a while, realise I’ve only scratched the surface re possibilities.
