• I’m new to this plugin – as I work on a 2nd Woocommerce store, try for some better layouts and functionality.

Firstly: it seems an excellent plugin, can do lots; I’ve tried 2 or 3 others that are well known, seem highly rated, but less functionality especially before start paying [alas, I make barely any sales].

I did get confused, however; and had prompt, very good responses from Shahriar and Owadud.

Initially not five stars here, though, as I got rather muddled with the how-to info.
For instance, a “tutorial” video is more a product promo. Some instructions include things like how to add plugins, when I wanted info on actually using the plugin.

Then, I especially got confused in using a template for shop/home pages. While publishing these does result in website pages that can be viewed, it does not create Pages as WordPress sees them.
Trying to change links to homepage, to make it a WordPress Page I created, had no effect: still seeing the page as per wowstore template. Switching the template to “draft” reversed this; so I could again see the Page as listed by WordPress [I learned this by trying; the info is rather tucked away within a video].

There’s more to do with instructions; like simplifying; also making it easier to view the templates [as with lightbox??]

And then: well then there are umpteen possibilities for how to change and enhance a Woocommerce store, with Wowstore and its multiple templates, blocks, settings and more.
For myself, just baby steps: I like having the filters for potential customers to use, so they could readily view grids of products selected by specific categories, or product tags.

I have drafted some notes on using wowstore; will perhaps revised and add to these over time.
And I realise I should do more with the related PostX plugin – been using this for a while, realise I’ve only scratched the surface re possibilities.

  • Plugin Support Shahriar

    (@masrakib2019)

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback — especially as someone new to the plugin. It really helps us understand where the experience is smooth and where it can be improved.

We’re glad to hear that you find the plugin powerful and feature-rich, and that it compares well with other well-known solutions you’ve tried. It’s also great to know that Shahriar and Owadud were able to support you promptly and helpfully when you needed guidance.

At the same time, we completely understand your concerns around onboarding clarity and documentation structure. The points you raised about tutorial videos being more promotional, and instructions not always focusing clearly on “how to use” vs “how to install,” are valid and very useful for us to improve the learning experience.

Your feedback about template behavior with WooCommerce shop/home pages and WordPress Pages is especially valuable. We understand how confusing it can be when templates visually override expected WordPress page behavior, and how important it is for users to clearly control homepage assignment and visibility without trial-and-error.

We also appreciate your suggestions around:

    • Making instructions simpler and more focused
    • Improving how templates are previewed and explored
    • Enhancing clarity around multiple customization paths

These are exactly the kinds of usability improvements we continuously work on, and your real-world experience as a new user helps highlight what needs clearer explanation.

Finally, it’s great to hear that you’re already using features like product filters, category grids, and tag-based browsing — those are strong building blocks for a better shopping experience, especially when you’re taking things step by step.

Thanks again for your honest review and for giving the plugin a try on your new store. Your feedback is genuinely valuable in shaping future improvements.

    Thanks; well I hope useful.

When choosing pre-made templates, they are small on screen. Maybe lightbox, for instance?

I may write something about using wowstore.
