Hey Dan
I’m in NY right now, but like to spend time in Austin. Looking forward to WP events in Austin when I’m in town.
I posted trying to find WP events in Austin and surrounding area.
Safe travels,

Check out http://wpaustin.com/
We have two meetups a month and a very active Google Groups-based e-mail list.
I don’t make it out as often as I’d like, but you’ll be able to meet folks from all ranges of the WP ladder– new end users with no desire to admin to folks who knock out incredible sites in their sleep.
I’ve found the group to be great for me when I decided to work primarily on WordPress and continually push me to become better on the platform.
Cheers,
Brandon

I’m very new to this and I am in Dallas Texas area..Any help or info would be much appreciated..having trouble setting up my main page..have a pic from wp,and that’s it so far..really wanting to learn.
I want to add BuddyPress features to my WP and hope to find some info to help me get started. I tried to install the parts to BuddyPress, but got all sorts of complaints. My base WP is 3.4.1.
I a very green rookie with all things WordPress, but I’ve been a “computer guy” since the Sixties so I hope the new skills come easily.
Thanks in advance,

I don’t have much experience with BP personally. I would strongly suggestion upgrading WP to 3.4.2. 3.4.2 was a security release and you don’t want an unpatched install in the field!
Personally, I’d check out the BuddyPress forums ( http://buddypress.org/support/ ) to get tips from folks who know BP!
Pkease note that this is NOT a support forum.
