When I visit the link generated by Gravity Forms Entries in Excel, I get this message:

We found a problem with some content in ‘gfexcel-4-conference-2019-20181016.xlsx’. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.

If you want me to provide the URL to the form, let me know. Just trying to figure out if and how I can avoid this message to stop popping up when my clients try to download and open the Excel file.

Whatever you can do or recommend, .. thanks,
    Gary

PS: I am using Gravity Forms v2.3.4. And I’m using Gravity Forms Entries in Excel v1.5.3. I’m also using WP v4.9.8.

ADDED NOTE: When I change it to download .csv, instead of .xlsx, I can avoid the issue and message. So I did this for now. I’d still love to get the .xlsx issue resolved, but at least the .csv is working for now.

    Hi Gary,

Thank you for being so detailed in your info. That helps me a lot!

Could you try to copy the form, add 1 entry and try again? If that works, you probably have an entry that contains some weird characters. That shouldn’t be a problem, but it might be.

If that doesn’t work, can you use the export of gravityforms itself to export the form (as a json file) without the data? That way I can import the form to try out for myself, and figure out whats wrong.

    Let me know!

Where can I send you the .json file?

    Doeke,

Thank you so much for your quick response and help with this. It didn’t seem to have anything to do with your plugin. I’m not sure why I was seeing this error, but it magically disappeared. You’re awesome!! Thank you again so much for quickly replying to my support post and all of your help. I’m marking this as resolved since I’m no longer having the problem.

    Cheers,
    Gary
