• I’ve been asked to provide some security for an existing blog – the blog owner is afraid to have its blog hacked so he asked me to install some tools or plugins – he suggested Wordfence or Sucuri.

I’m not a WP expert – I work mostly with PHP frameworks like CakePHP, so I’m clueless on what tools are out there that can secure a blog. Any suggestions?

  • Both are good choices. I use Wordfence but Sucuri is good too. The site should be fine with either one.

I use the NinjaFirewall out in front of WordPress, then BulletProof Security to guard the door (htaccess), then Wordfence to throttle traffic and scan files.
