• Hi,

I am needed help with an urgent warning as think my site has been hacked. I have spoken to my host provider who says I have been hacked I need to purchase an option to remove the malware. The error I get when clicking on any link on my site is as follows.

Warning: require_once(facebook-by-weblizar-widgets.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/aberdeh3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-by-weblizar/facebook-by-weblizar.php on line 48

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘facebook-by-weblizar-widgets.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php70/lib/php’) in /home1/aberdeh3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-by-weblizar/facebook-by-weblizar.php on line 48

Any help to resolve this asap would be appreciated as I am not that knowledgeable on malware or security issues but if I can fix it within needing the security pack from my host that would be great.

    Thank you

I’ve moved this from Everything else WordPress to Fixing WordPress where it belongs. I’ve also removed the “URGENTLY” part. These are volunteer forums and URGENT really isn’t for here and this isn’t in anyway a “security breach”.

That’s not really what a hack but a plugin not playing nice with your site. Try this.

Using whatever FTP or file management tools your host provider has offered you and do the following.

    1. Navigate to the /home1/aberdeh3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ directory
    2. When you are there, delete the facebook-by-weblizar directory. Just that one directory and nothing else.
    3. After that, clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
    4. Visit your site.

After that does your site load?

Thank you for your help, The reason I thought this was the case as my hosting company said I had been hacked but I take it they are trying to make a quick buck off of me then? Even still is this caused by out of date plugin or what was the reason? Just so I know for next time or will I need to by malware security removal anyway?

    Thank you again

It may be premature to think security or malware. 😉

If you are in doubt, there are some free plugins that can scan your site effectively. Here’s a few in no particular order.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/gotmls/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordfence/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/sucuri-scanner/

There are others. If your site is compromised then a plugin won’t necessarily fix it for you but could at least alert you to a potential exploit.

    @deeekie

That Facebook plugin was updated about 8 hours ago (to version 2.5.0) and one user in the support forum is reporting a similar fatal error: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/2-5-0-breaks-my-website/.

Thank you very much! I just experienced the same problem today. Life saver.

    Hi deeekie,pidengmor,goldlionpal,

Apologies for the version – 2.5.0

We have just fixed the code and please update your plugin version 2.5.1 . And I request you to keep it using further.

    Thanks

The reason was we have shifted some code(widget file code) into plugin main file, but forget to point out the correct path for the file, that’s why the error.

So, we have fixed the code in latest plugin version.

    Thanks for using our plugin.
