Support » Fixing WordPress » Secured pages of a website

  • I am just in the planning stages of our website and hoping to use WordPress to create my site. I would like to have most of the site open for public viewing but then have a page where people can fill out a form (with fields I designate) to be granted access to a secure area. Is that possible in WordPress?
I’ve seen some posts about password protecting pages but I really want to be the one who grants access so I can gather data from the people needing access rather than letting just anyone create a password and enter the area.
Once in the secure area, is it possible to have a forum where those who can enter, can start discussions and comment on discussions?

    Thanks!
