  • Is it possible to create a second Shop page along side the default Shop page that would contain products — in this case costumes for rent — that customers would request via email in lieu of add to cart?

    Here is what I mean:

    That is our current Magento store, but I’m in the process of replacing it, as it has always been broken in one form or another. I have set up my Woocommerce store in a test location, and everything is working great so far. I just need this functionality to go live.

    Thanks in advance!

    Yep, it’s possible.

    Just put those products which are requested by an email in a specific category, then create a new page and pull those products into it using the products shortcode.

    You can also use this snippet to hide products in that category on your main shop page;

    That’s a basic way to achieve this. You might prefer to create a new template with a custom product loop rather than using the shortcode, for more flexibility.

    Thanks for the reply!

    So this sort of works, but there are a couple of bugs. First, the products display quite poorly. See here:

    Secondly, on the product pages, I still need to replace the Add to Cart button with a Request a Rental button that opens an email form.

    Another thing I just noticed is that the Rental category is still present in the side widget when on the default Shop page. It occurs to me that the easiest solution would be to simply remove the Add To Cart from all products in the Rental category. Is that possible?
