• Totally frustrated with version 3.2 though i can see it’s not only version 3.2 which is the problem.

Navigation link disappeared on the static web page welcome, when i check pages, it shows the welcome page as changed to schedule and somehow unpublished itself.

No publish button, and the search in the forum digs up links over 4 years old, with the same problem of cannot publish. This is my 2nd attempt at a clean install, the first attempt went very well and i had completed 14 pages without fault.

I swapped the order of menu nav links around on the header and side box in HTML and lost the links to the database, and had to delete and do a clean install.

Now problems again, I just do not understand how they can say 3.2 version is stable, when there are so many bugs. Admittedly I did cause the problem in the first install… But the second install has just got me scratching my head, why i cannot publish the welcome page, and how it has unpublished itself, and set it to schedule, with no publish ability.

The search function on the forum is hopeless! Digging up old post’s over 4 years…with the same problem as now!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I only had the page widget, no plugins!
I decided to just add another welcome page and delete the old one, some really strange things going on. Like I had 7 links in the side box after I downloaded my theme, they just disappeared, so i went to the links clicked and it opened my drinkingvinegar page, as a post and under that was another post, my about page. So I checked posts, no posts. Just the pages on my nav links.

So two static pages, somehow became posts… I deleted all links and categorys and have settled for just a website with pages.

I can see through the live feed that someone has clicked on a dead page, how they managed that I don’t know, as i have clicked on all the nav links. But i clicked on the live feed link and it did take me to an empty page ID 212. Which I haven’ found yet. Tried the live feed link again and it starts with page 104, then cannot find. the first time it found my theme page with nothing on.

Just finished testing all nav links and they are fine.
    Thanks for your help
