# Second Category Section

 * Hello,
 * I would like to have two category sections for different reasons that would ultimately
   allow someone to be able to browse my modified wordpress blog through two different
   categories.
 * The existing default categories cannot be modified and must continue as normal
   hence I have to have the second category section that I have add different categories
   and list it on a different section of the site.
 * The easiest way that I could see this working is when making a post, to have 
   the default category section and then a “Category 2” section where I would make
   a selection.
 * Looking forward to any assistance 🙂

 * There is no such feature in WP.
    The closest thing I can think of… have 2 main(
   parent) categories – 1 and 2 – and all the others as subcats of them.

 * I guess one other way would be to have permanent links to a search query, and
   just ensure that the tags are in place for each post ? That way when clicking“
   Link 1” it’ll appear that it’s browsing that category?

   and only just thought of this 🙂 sorry for the confusion hehe

 * I’ve just tried adding a ‘tag’ and then searching for it, no results are found–
   any idea?

 * Assuming you have permalinks set up, your link for your tag would be like [http://www.yoursite.com/tag/yourtaghere](http://www.yoursite.com/tag/yourtaghere)
 * And you’ll need a post published with the tag you’re using for it to pull up 
   posts.
