Searching by a meta key is covered in the FAQ

There’s enough in the code that you can do anything you could do with WP_User_Query.

I’m afraid I’m just not understanding that.

I do recall hand-writing the plugin from your original online article.

Modifying it in this way seems geared toward developers who know “filtering” etc. I’m no slouch, but that isn’t me.

I’m also confused how much of this is about *listing*, which I don’t need, versus searching to result in a listing.

Iis there a way someone could hold my hand through achieving an author search form, checking against multiple keys, using this kind of code?

For now, I have put a small job for this task out there on Upwork.

    Thanks.

    From the FAQ:

    [userlist meta_key="foo" meta_value="widgets"]

is how you would show a list of users based who have a specific meta key. The plugin is primarily meant to “list” users in a directory, with search as more of a secondary feature.

Modifying it in this way seems geared toward developers who know “filtering” etc.

Yes, modifying anything beyond what is possible with the shortcode parameters (which is actually quite a lot) requires filtering as you are looking at very complex queries.

Unfortunately, no. This type of customization is beyond what I cover in general support. You can contact me to discuss potentially hiring me.
