Search scope stops working in 5.12 with custom templates | WordPress.org

When I update to 5.12 the search scope fields in my event search stop working. It will filter the results, but the input fields do not get populated with the values from the form submission. Can you explain what has changed in EM that would break custom search forms that were using the original EM templates as a basis?

The problem may be that you are now passing the ‘scope’ argument through sanitize_text_field, but it’s an array. Instead you should sanitize each array element of the scope REQUEST.
