• In search.php it says:

    * If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
    * called content-search.php and that will be used instead.

Does anyone have a working example of this in action?

Basically, I need to change my Penscratch 2 search results so that results are in the following appearance/order:

    Title
    Excerpt
    author_name (from custom taxonomy)
    date (from custom taxonomy)

Just not sure how to proceed. A working example would be a welcome Clue!

  • Hi there,

This is not a question that is specific to this theme (but instead regarding how to generally edit search.php) which we are not able to help with in this forum. However, you can find help here with this type of general WordPress question: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

My question is specifically about the search results screen in the Penscratch-2 theme, not generally about WordPress search results. In particular, this in the Penscratch-2 codebase:

    * If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file
    * called content-search.php and that will be used instead.

Does anyone have a working example of this in action?
