  • Resolved scud

I recently got a friend setup with a new WP blog a week or two ago. I made a theme and got everything working nicely.

However this past weekend his search has started returning a 404 Not Found page when you attempt to search for something.

I’ve tried upgrading to 2.2.1, trying any of the other ways to use the searchform.php and embedding one onto the sidebar page, but still nothing.

A more telling issue is that even if I attempt to search on the Manage post section the results still end up with 0 even if I search for something like Apple.

Has anyone had a previous issue where the search results returned a 404 page?

  • Bump for possible night crew help?

I wonder if something in your .htaccess doesn’t like the /?s=Apple. I also wonder what your access log entry is for such a query. or if the error log is complaining about something.

    S. There is no night crew. Just random people who show up when they feel like it and think they have some advice.

I know there’s not a night crew per se, but I do know a lot of times the people who could help have different hours and if it’s not near the first page it may not get found.

However I did actually solve the problem. It was Ultimate Tag Warrior. Guess it doesn’t play nice with 2.2.1 and was causing a conflict as soon as I enabled it.

So out the window it goes and now things are working fine.
