Search results displayed on the default language

Hello, unfortunately the search only works in the standard language (German). If I search in English, only the German Search Results Template is displayed without results. I have created both templates as described. One in German with the condition search results and one in English with no condition.

Do you have a solution for me? Can I influence something about Searchform.php?

@jessizollero, I am facing the same issue as you. Would you happen to know if your language switcher is working properly? Also, are you using the Elementor page builder? I found out that if you use the default WordPress search form widget, your search results for both your languages will appear. Only issue with using the basic WordPress search form is that it is not customizable…

No, unfortunately it also does not work with the standard. I just tried all search fields. Yes otherwise the language changer works. I also use Ivory Search plugin to search only on the specific category but even if I turn it off nothing changes.

@jessizollero Yeah I recently installed Ivory search and if you go to the
plugin setting > Menu Search, and if you make sure to display the menu search option on your chosen nav menu, the search form will work on all the languages. Let me know if you gather up more info on this topic. I have been facing this issue for a while now and no one seems to have any results.

Thanks for the tip so at least something is different with the method when i search on the english page and press enter i don’t get the german search result anymore but a 404. i changed the condition of the search result template to search, but somehow i get a 404

What was your Polylang URL problem? Maybe I could be facing the same issue.

the url in the english site always went to /en/home instead of just /en. that’s why the 404 error occurred. i changed the url in the url modification in polylang. “The URL of the title page contains the language code instead of the page name or the page ID”

Example: https://www.getinsign.de/ instead of https://www.getinsign.de/start/

…and now it works 🙂
