    Hello, I recently updated the theme and am experiencing a major change in a functionality.

    Namely, search results, or when I click on a tag or category name under a post in order to pull up all related posts that are likewise tagged or in the same category.

    Previously, doing so would generate a list of results that were the entire posts, complete with text, photos and all other elements.

    Now i just get a headline and the first couple of line of text, no photos, no full post.

    Is this a change to the theme? Is there some way for me to get the old-style search results again? Thanks for any help.

  • Do you know which version of the theme you were using before? I looked at the changelogs here:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Twenty_Ten_Theme_Changelog#Version_2.9

    I don’t see any recent mentions of switching over to using the_excerpt() instead of the_content() that would cause the posts content to not show all of the data.

    Do you have any plugins installed that might have updated that could possibly change how the content is being displayed? If you haven’t tried it already, disable all plugins at once and see if the issue resolves itself. If it does, enable the plugins one by one until you find the culprit causing the changes.

    Thanks for the response.

    I deactivated all plugsins, however this had no effect.

    I have not made any other customizations to the theme. Pretty sure I was running 2.8 before, as I normally accept theme updates when they roll out.

    Is there some way I can change the_excerpt() to the_content() manually? Or is there some other theme that shows content, not excerpts?

    Cheers!

    I found the problem.

    Line 148 in loop.php reads <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    Changed it to <?php the_content(); ?>

    All is well again.
