Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » Search queries starting with portale/php/

  • Hi,

While using your plugin it shows at “20 most common user search queries” regularly lots of search inquires starting with “portale/php/” followd by some further words.

Since I believe that no real visitor is searching like this, I assume that these are automatted inquiries from whomever. Is this something I can take off the search results?
And do you maybe have an idea where this comes from?

    Regards
    Sabrina from malvorlagen-seite.de

Yes, it’s bot traffic, likely to URLs like /search/portale/php and so on. Possibly fishing for vulnerabilities, but useless anyway. Nothing to worry about, but annoying when they clot the logs.

It would be best if these bots could be blocked on the server level before Relevanssi or even WordPress are involved. Perhaps you could ask your hosting provider to see what they can do about these?
