I'm currently building a site which will use search results as a means of navigation. However, the search function doesn't seem to be behaving as well as I'd hoped.

    For example this post:http://elpweb.com/WPsandbox/core-building-speaking-1/

It includes the text "Taught in Spring on Monday period 3", yet when I enter that text into the search box (including the quotes) I get 'Nothing found':

    http://elpweb.com/WPsandbox/?s=%22Taught+in+Spring+on+Monday+period+3%22

What am I doing wrong? Is there a maximum number of characters allowed in the search function? :(

    Small bump here ...

If someone could help with this I'd be very happy!

Is there a character limit for a WP exact phrase ("...") search? If so, is there a plugin which gets around this limitation?

    Thanks.

People say a lot of things about the WordPress search functionality. I would recommend taking a look at using Google to handle your search for you. There are many articles on this available.

Thanks for that. Are there any particularly recommended plugins that can do the job?

There are a few plugins (if you search WordPress plugins). I haven't used any myself. I followed a guide or two that I found myself, on how to do it manually.
