search ordering changing when filtering

    Hi,

    I am using search and filter pro (searchandfilter.com) with Relavancy.

    if you search for ‘open’ the website the top result is ‘open day’ which is perfect.

    if you then change the filter from ‘whole site’ to ‘Events’ and search again for ‘open’ it is finding and showing results such as ‘FRESHERS’ FAIR’ which has ‘open’ in the excerpt but the event ‘open event’ is way down the list.

    Relavancy is set so the titles have the highest weights so I am not sure why the order is not adhering to the weights.

    I have spoken to search and filter pro and they said:

    Most odd. All our plugin does is to receive the list if Post IDs that Relevanssi sends to it and keeps them in that order.

    If you try this URL on your site you can see the pure Relevanssi results for “open” in events: /?s=open&post_types=tribe_events

    If you try the different sortings, looks like the sorting changes to “Oldest first” when you choose the post type. Your sort options menu is missing the “relevancy” option. Perhaps you should add that as the default option in the sorting options menu?
