Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » Search Only Working for Titles

  • Resolved snowme

It seems that I’m only able to get search results if the word I’m searching for is in the title of the post. I’ve tried various search terms and tried debugging. If I search for a term in the title of the post I get a query result, if it’s in the content of the post I get 0 results.

I made sure post and pages are checked and not excluded from search and I’ve rebuilt the index successfully without error, but this has not fixed the issue.

    Can you provide any assistance?

  • I checked the relevanssi table in my WordPress database and the words I was searching for exist so they are getting indexed correctly.

A good test is to use the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search). Does that find you results?

Also make sure the weight for the content isn’t set to zero on the Searching tab.

Thank you for quickly “zeroing” in on the issue. Yes for some reason the Content was weighted as 0. Once I set it to 1 the search results started working. Not sure how it got to set to 0, but all is well. Thanks again!
