    Hi Jeroen!

I really like your plugin, I will surely donate you as soon as I finish this dictionary job.

Just wanted to ask you something: can you make an option with check marks to be able to search ONLY in 1. Names or 2. Descriptions OR 3. BOTH by the plugin itself (not by WordPress, I know that you made it already)?

It would be very useful for me, because I use your plugin for a dictionary, and that way one could search in one language (with option 1. to search only in Names), in other language (with option 2. to search only in Descriptions) and in both languages (with option 3. to search in Names and Descriptions at the same time).

    Kind regards!

    Hey @attila73,

thanks for your suggestion! I understand why you ask for it. I did create something like it for the WordPress site search, that is right.

I could do something like that per-directory too, but I’ll do it like the WP-option. So there would be only a toggle whether to search in the descriptions. I’ ll put this on my todo list.

As I can imagine that’s something which you are interested in, in your specific appliance, I don’t see any extra value in searching in the descriptions only for other users at this point.

However, since you are planning to make a donation (which I really appreciate), I could also create a version for you which would have exactly this option that you need.

    Kind regards,

    Jeroen PEters

Thank you very much, and I will keep my promise, 100%! I think everybody who earns money with your free plugin should do so. The energies must flow! ๐Ÿ™‚ Otherwise they will stuck…

Hey @attila73 thanks so much. I do not have an ETA for the new function btw.

If everyone who earned money with the plugin donated me two euro or dollar, I could pay my editor license for about 20 years ๐Ÿ˜€

    Kind regards,

    Jeroen Peters

No worries, if you can fix my other problem with not finding exact words if they have any character before or after them (I wrote about it in another topic), the plugin will be much more usable for my dictionary purposes already!
Well… then I will donate on behalf of other 14 person who missed it. Anyway, your plugin and your support is really outstanding, everyone should appreciate it.

@attila73 It’s in v1.15. Would you please let me know if this would suffice? It’s not in the frontend at this time.

    Kind regards,

    Jeroen Peters

Wow, cool! It works nicely per directory!

Maybe you will make it switchable by the visitors on the frontend but till then I cloned my directory (export, new directory, import) and I set the ‘Search in description’ option to Yes in one of them, and No in the other one as a workaround. So this way my visitors can search only for Names in one form, and search both for Names and descriptions in the other.

Unfortunately the search forms of these two directories cannot be put on one page, because the results will be shown under both of them regardless which one of them the search was made in.

I don’t know can something be done here not to show results below each of the search forms or not, but for now as a solution I placed the directories and their search forms on different pages so this way it’s working now!

Thank you very much for your great support!

Hey Atilla, at the moment, searching on a page will search in all the name-directories on it.

Small update: Atilla made this a paid assignment for me

Thank you very much for the fast coding!
The paid feature request I ordered from you is working as I imagined!

The two search forms (one with enabled and one with disabled option to search in descriptions) can now be put on the same page, and the results will be shown only under the search form in which the search was made.
